Sheridan brought in Sam Elliott with a story about the journey westward

”It's certainly not like 《1883》, where we don't always have to stay outdoors and face the elements.%Elliott compared the two filmings in an interview with Variety, and said that there are parts in this play that are related to things he cherishes.When he first joined, he felt overwhelmed; TVLine believed that his performance was one of the highlights of the second season.

Elliott told the Television Academy that he has committed to starring in Oil King for a fourth season.But as of this report, the platform has officially confirmed that it has only been renewed for the third season.
