The Yangtze River Delta Youth Film Week opens on October 17, and 20 projects will go on stage for roadshows

Of the 545 applied projects, 50 have entered the re-examination stage after preliminary review, and the top 20 will finally take the stage for the road show.A press conference held in Ningbo on October 8 announced the selection progress of the 2026 Yangtze River Delta International Youth Film Week and Youth Film Venture Capital Plan, as well as the arrangements for screenings, forums and citizen activities.

Film Week is scheduled to be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang from October 17th to 23rd. It is guided by the State Film Administration, co-sponsored by China Central Radio and Television and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Film Bureau and the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, and supported by the Shanghai, Jiangsu and Anhui Film Bureaus.

The event adopts a “2+5” structure: the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony, plus five sections including Qingying Venture Capital, China Film New Force Forum, film screenings, theme activities and “电影+”.The opening ceremony will be held on the evening of October 17th, and the closing ceremony and honors ceremony will be held on the evening of October 23rd. At that time, the results of “Qingying Venture Capital” annual projects, industrial partner support projects and “Zhijiang Honors” recommendation will be released.

The venture capital program is aimed at young filmmakers from around the world, combining expert review, mentor guidance and AIGC imaging training to help projects move from the creative stage to industry docking.Nine industry preliminary judges have completed the first round of evaluation; during the road show stage, three judging panels, namely professional, market and audience, have been set up to allow the project to be evaluated from different perspectives.

Zhejiang Film Industry Fund will participate with six strategic partners: Maoyan, Lianrui, Matt, Kungfu, Zhijiang Film Group, and Zhejiang Film and Television Group.Winning projects can receive bonuses and industrial resource support, and high-quality projects have the opportunity to enter the intended investment range of the Provincial Film Industry Fund, with a single project up to tens of millions of yuan.

The forum will focus on realism, animation and new technology empowering creation, with six rounds of speeches and roundtable dialogues, with creators, scholars and industry representatives participating.

There are also cross-strait and Hong Kong and Macao film and television industry dialogues, with special sessions for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan respectively; a roundtable meeting for Chinese and African young filmmakers provides an opportunity for international exchanges; and the Yangtze River Delta film industry faces face-to-face discussions on regional cooperation.The Film Talent Living Room offers special sessions for producers, directors, screenwriters and live broadcast rooms for filmmakers. “When Movies Meet AI” discusses creative methods under new technologies.

40 Chinese and foreign films were selected for the screening, divided into five sections: Special Exhibition: Time Game, Silver Sea Collection, New Film Awards, Yangtze River Delta Film Circle and Craftsmanship Feast.The screening covers 10 cities and 20 theaters in the Yangtze River Delta,A total of 187 games are scheduled.Ningbo will also hold 10 post-screening exchanges, and the creators of films such as "Atlantic" and "Medium Rare" will meet with the audience.

In addition to cinemas, movies, shopping on Tmall, light and shadow city, fashion studios, and film promotion consumption activities in various districts and counties in Ningbo connect movies with technology, fashion, food and intangible cultural heritage experiences.30° North Short Film Week and 30° North Science Fiction Film Week will also be held jointly during the film week.

The main visual unveiled at the press conference uses gold and inwardly converging triangles, combining Youth, the Yangtze River Delta Yangtze, and the abbreviation of Ningbo into three “Y”.The three-sided screens are integrated into the ripples, waves and tide patterns found in Jiangnan hydrology, corresponding to this year’s design theme of “Standing on the Trend and Running Following Shadows”.
