Maya's relationship with Fisk develops.Fisk treated Maya rudely in 2008, but in 2021 he told her that the training was complete and they needed to trust each other.Fisk gives Maya a contact lens that converts his words into sign language, making it easier for them to communicate.

Fisk wants to have a family dinner, but Maya is hesitant.Fisk tells Maya that she can have the empire she wants, but only if she comes home with him.He waited for her at the Choctaw Casino and then headed to New York together.Maya continues to have visions of her ancestors, so Henry takes her to meet Chula.

Chula had the same vision on the night she gave birth to Maya's mother, when she gave birth in a forest surrounded by her family instead of in a white hospital.There were some complications during pregnancy and it was a test of life and death; the ancestors appeared when they were needed most.Maya still blames Chula for not being there for her.

Maya goes to see Fisk in the casino suite, pointing a gun at him.Fisk explains to her the cause of his father's death and shows her an item to commemorate the occasion - the hammer he used to kill his father, in a nod to the episode of Daredevil produced by Netflix.Maya was unable to kill Fisk and did not take him away.

The episode ends with her leaving Tamaha on her motorcycle, and Fisk throwing a tantrum on the plane.
