The film tells the story of the awakening of revolutionary thoughts and patriotic feelings of villager Zhao Xiaotian (played by Laixi) during the Anti-Japanese War.

Under the high pressure of the Japanese army, who burned, killed, and looted, he originally wanted to live quietly, but he was accidentally involved in the struggle with the Japanese army.

From the beginning, he just wanted to avenge his relatives and marry his beloved girl as soon as possible to resolutely joining the New Fourth Army and making landmines with the soldiers to fight against the Japanese army.

With the help of Jiang Dajiang (played by Jiang Shui), the captain of the New Fourth Army guerrillas, Zhao Xiaotian gradually grew into a strong revolutionary fighter.
