Casey Bloys’ new role has been announced: co-chairman and chief content officer of Skydance’s consumer-facing streaming business. On October 5, David Ellison announced that Paramount and Warner Bros. were exploring post-merger management arrangements. Bloys, who was originally responsible for HBO and HBO Max, would take charge of the new company's streaming content business.

His partner is JB Perrette.Perrette was previously responsible for Warner Bros. Discovery's global streaming and gaming businesses, and his new role is co-chairman and chief commercial officer of Skydance's television and streaming businesses.George Cheeks, the former head of Paramount Television Media, will serve as co-chairman and chief content officer of the television segment, while Cindy Holland, the former head of Paramount+ and Pluto TV, will leave.

The company is led by Chairman and CEO Ellison, along with former Mattel head Enon Kreitz. The film business will be handed over to Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein, DC will continue to be jointly run by James Gunn and Peter Safran, and Mark Thompson will remain as CNN CEO.Each of the film, television and streaming divisions report to two top executives.

The personnel has been settled, but there is no answer yet on how to integrate the subscription products.

At the Bloomberg 2026 Screentime event held earlier, Bloys was asked whether HBO Max would be combined with Paramount+ into one big platform. He did not confirm the merger plan, but mentioned the bundled subscription of HBO Max and Disney services, saying that this approach has been successful and that a similar arrangement would make sense.

This statement proposed a possible direction, and did not announce new packages, prices or launch dates. At that event, he also refused to announce the management list in advance for Ellison: the transaction had not yet been completed, and the new structure should be announced by Ellison and the team.

Bloys still has one year remaining on his original contract with Warner Bros. Discovery.Talking about the creation of HBO, he said that he had communicated with Ellison, and the other party was very excited and respected the achievements accumulated by the HBO team in the past.He believes the new owner wants to keep the content HBO is good at, rather than changing its long-established practices.

The US$111 billion acquisition agreement was reached in February 2026 and received regulatory approvals in 68 countries. The court subsequently approved the settlement of antitrust lawsuits between Paramount and 12 states, and the deal entered the final stage before closing. The announced stock trading schedule is to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on October 6 under the symbol “SKYD”.

The combined Skydance is expected to carry more than $80 billion in net debt. The business goals proposed by Kreitz include promoting consumer-oriented platform integration, combining content, technology and user experience, while optimizing traditional TV business.
