The 16th Golden Eagle TV Arts Festival opens: 36 dramas compete for outstanding TV dramas

  The 33rd China TV Golden Eagle Awards and the 16th China Golden Eagle TV Arts Festival opened in Changsha on the evening of September 27. The three-day event will focus on work recognition, creative exchanges, audio-visual technology and youth power.The opening ceremony will feature an outdoor symphony concert with film and television soundtracks as the main theme, bringing the music, characters and memories of the era from the TV series to the scene; the awards ceremony on the evening of September 29 will announce multiple awards for outstanding TV series and screenwriters, directors, actors, etc.

The opening concert selected classic soundtracks from hit dramas such as - Go Where the Wind Is - Do You Know It Should Be Green, Fat, Red and Thin - Blossoms - and reorganized it through the performance of Chinese and Western instruments and Yu Kewei's live singing.The melody that is familiar to the audience can still evoke memories of characters and scenes even after leaving the specific plot.The outdoor symphonic form brings the sound of the TV from the living room to the public space, and also distances the opening ceremony from the common star-studded evening parties.

The period drama section connects classic fragments of works such as Children of the Nation - The World - Glory of the Fathers - and adds situational performances to present the connection between ordinary families and the changes of the times.The opening ceremony also invited the director, photography director, art director and styling director of "The Tree of Life" to talk about the behind-the-scenes work. The main character, Sun Hao, performed on stage to sing, allowing the front-stage performance and production positions to enter the audience's field of vision at the same time.

The professional activities of this festival cover topics such as the development of television literature and art and the construction of a cultural power, the development of audio-visual technology in the digital intelligence era, and the new power of Chinese audio-visual art.Creators, researchers and technology practitioners will discuss content production, distribution methods and industry changes in separate workshops.The artist's city tour series brings guests into the urban space of Changsha, increasing the connection between TV art and the venue.

For the first time, micro-short dramas have entered the important agenda of this festival as an independent honorary unit, reflecting the rapid growth of short content in the television and online audiovisual fields.The Honors Unit will conduct exchanges around the quality of works and creative practices, and also provide short drama teams with the opportunity to have conversations with traditional TV drama practitioners.Long-form dramas and short-form dramas have different rhythms, costs and communication environments. Both parties are facing the problem of quality and continuous production.

The 33rd China TV Golden Eagle Awards include awards for outstanding TV series, best documentaries, best animations, best TV variety shows, as well as TV series screenwriters, directors, leading actors, leading actresses, supporting actors, supporting actresses and TV show hosts.The awards cover both work types and individual positions, so that aspects such as screenwriting, directing, acting and program production can be individually evaluated.

The best actor will be selected from six actors: Yu Hewei, Wang Renjun, Wang Baoqiang, Wang Xiao, Hu Ge, and Guo Jingfei; Ma Yili, Ren Zhimo (Ren Suxi), Yan Ni, Yang Zi, Wu Yue, and Song Jia will enter the competition for best actress.The candidate actors come from historical dramas, realistic themes and genre works. Each of them faces different role spans, performance styles and narrative tasks. The final results will be announced at the awards night.

A total of 36 works were nominated for outstanding TV dramas, and - Shangganling - Alley People - Taiping Year - All Creatures - Silent Glory - were among them.The list spans major history, family life, period narratives and realistic themes, focusing on the main directions of TV drama creation in the recent stage.The nomination and commendation ceremony, awards ceremony and closing party on September 29 will bring this year’s Golden Eagle Festival to an end.
