《Three Days in Zunyi》Start broadcast: Five episodes return to the turning point of life and death in the Long March

 Five episodes of documentary documentary - Zunyi Three Days - will be broadcast from September 28 to October 2, each episode is about 25 minutes.The entire film revolves around the Zunyi Conference from January 15th to 17th, 1935. With the three-day conference process as the center, it traces back to the failure of the fifth anti-encirclement and suppression campaign, the departure of the Long March and the bloody battle of the Xiangjiang River, and extends backward to the fourth crossing of Chishui, the skillful crossing of the Jinsha River, and the successful rendezvous.The limited time cuts connect the overall situation of the Long March and sort out how an important turning point occurred.

The five episodes are - Dangerous Decisions - Meeting at Zunyi - Turning Points in Life and Death - Chishui Lifeng - Long Journey -.The first two episodes explain the severe situation faced by the Red Army, as well as the route and judgment before the meeting; the middle episode enters the core process of the three-day meeting; the last two episodes continue to track military operations and historical trends after the implementation of the decision.This arrangement creates a continuous relationship between meeting discussions, battlefield changes and the results of the Long March.

The creation is based on authoritative party history documents and refers to the reportage of the same name of the 9th Lu Xun Literature Award.Experts from the Central Academy of Party History and Documentation, the Academy of Military Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other institutions participated in the entire review process.For documentary documentaries, dates, locations, character relationships, and action sequences all need to be corroborated with each other. Expert checks and multi-source historical data verification form the basis for narrative credibility.

In terms of image presentation, the main creator performed a 4K ultra-high-definition restoration of the oral interview materials of the old Red Army.After restoration, the ancient scenes can more clearly retain the characters’ expressions and oral details.Authoritative experts interpret and explain the background, and various archival materials mutually corroborate each other. Dynamic activation of prints and spatial illustrations of maps transform historical processes that are difficult to photograph directly into visual information.

Maps are an important tool in this type of narrative.The Long March involved continuous transfers, complex terrain, and multiple battles. It was difficult to establish a sense of space just by listing place names.The dynamic route can show the direction of the Red Army's march, rivers, mountains, and key nodes, allowing the audience to understand the distance and conditions between one decision and the next action.The print elements retain the historical texture and add visual layering to the passages in the historical materials that lack dynamic images.

The film crew started from Yuduhe in Jiangxi and went to Fenghuangzui in Guangxi, Passage in Hunan, Liping, Weng'an and Zunyi in Guizhou. They also visited Tashi, Kunming in Yunnan, Jiaopingdu of the Jinsha River, Gulin, Huili and Lianghekou in Sichuan, and Lazikou in Gansu.On-site shooting along the Long March route brings today's landforms, ruins and commemorative spaces into the picture, and also allows historical materials to obtain clear geographical coordinates.

《Three Days in Zunyi》is a key support project of the National Radio and Television Administration's Documentary Innovation Action Plan. It is guided by the State Administration of Radio and Television, the Propaganda Department of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Guizhou Provincial Radio and Television Bureau. It is produced by the Satellite TV Center of Guizhou Radio and Television Station and the Documentary Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.The creative force is composed of media production teams, academic institutions and party history experts, taking into account historical material research and television expression.

The broadcast adopts simultaneous linkage between large and small screens.The National Defense and Military Channel of the China Central Radio and Television Station and Guizhou Satellite TV will be broadcast for the first time, and new media clients and accounts of broadcasting and television such as “好看” large-screen on-demand area, IPTV, OTT, key online audio-visual platforms, and “China Audio-visual ” will be launched simultaneously, and will also be launched on provincial satellite TVs in the future.Multi-terminal coverage allows the five episodes to be watched continuously on a daily basis, and is also convenient for viewers to watch back on demand and supplement historical background.
