The story takes place between two generations of three families in contemporary Lhasa.Thubeng, an opera performer who has dedicated his life to the Tibetan opera troupe, suffered blows one after another: his eldest son Suolang resigned from public office and started a business without his back, and he was heavily in debt; his youngest son Tashi said he did not want to be a doctor and wanted to sing Tibetan opera; his eldest daughter Qu Zong also faced love difficulties.
