In 1995, Kazuma Kiryu and his friends, desperate to escape their restrictive lives, planned to rob a local arcade game store.However, this arcade shop falls under the jurisdiction of the Dojima-gumi, the gang organization that controls Kamurocho.
At the same time, in 2005, Kiryu, who was about to be released from prison, learned from Detective Date that his friends were in danger, and decided to return to Kamurocho to protect them.
