Five law school graduates including Chen Yizhong (played by Huang Jingyu), Yu Gaoyuan, and Zhang Lihui (played by Zhang Jianing).After graduation, they entered different departments of public security, procuratorial and judicial departments. In the context of the revision of the Criminal Law--Criminal Procedure Law from the late 1970s to 1997, they participated in judicial practice, witnessed the process of the rule of law, and experienced growth and choices in the torrent of the times.
