This drama is adapted from the comic book of the same name. In the first episode of the TV series, %Hokkaido Tattooed Prisoner Battle, the hunt for the tattooed prisoner with a code indicating the location of the gold nugget officially begins.The Nugget's journey enters a new phase as the prisoners' past and beliefs are revealed.​

The three-way battle for the tattooed prisoners is also fierce between the powerful figures who appear one after another and various factions such as the 7th Division (including the Sugimoto group and Lieutenant Tsurumi).
