Lin Deng, the founder of Domestic Industrial Group, nicknamed Zhenxiong and Yingrui, was born in Yuanshan Township, Yilan County in 1914 and died on August 17, 1992.He is a well-known first-generation industrialist in Taiwan and the founder of Domestic Industrial Group.Lin Deng comes from a prominent family in Yilan. His ancestors have been prosperous for generations, and some even passed the imperial examination. From the Qing Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period, they expanded their fields and established businesses, and the family business flourished.Taiwan's early entrepreneurs are often associated with the land reform of the 1950s.After the land reform, many landowners invested their money in traditional industries. This promoted Taiwan's economic take-off in the 1960s and 1970s, injected vitality into industrialization, and also helped wealthy families shift their wealth concepts from land to industry to build their families.

The domestic industrial group founded by Lin Deng started from the most demanding building materials industry. At the peak of his career, his shareholding in Taiwan Cement, the largest cement factory in Taiwan, was second only to Ku Zhenfu. In comparison, Wang Yongqing, who later became Taiwan's richest man, could only produce 4 tons of PVC powder a day in the Formosa Plastics Group at that time. There was a huge gap between his wealth and his family's strength.During the ups and downs of Lin Deng's entrepreneurial journey, he experienced many fierce battles for management rights, the most famous of which was the battle for Taiwan Cement Corporation's management rights. The movie Trade War shot by Lin Xiaoxin is based on this.In the 1950s, Taiwan Cement Corporation, Taiwan's largest cement factory, was converted from public ownership to private ownership, attracting private capital. Lin Deng was one of the founding shareholders and served as the vice chairman of Taiwan Cement Corporation.

At that time, most landowners had reservations about the land-for-stock policy, but Lin Deng was different from them.TCC was one of the earliest listed companies in the early days of the Taiwan Stock Exchange.Unlike some wealthy landlords, Lin Deng likes to get in touch with the capital market. In order to fight for management rights, he invented the stock power of attorney to gain the support of shareholders. In addition to competing with Ku Chen-fu for the management rights of Taiwan Cement Corporation, he also participated in the battles for the management rights of well-known enterprises such as Taiwan Paper and Hua Nan Bank.In the competition for Taiwan Cement's management rights, he once had a chance to defeat Ku Zhenfu and was expected to become the chairman of Taiwan Cement.
