After the family arrived on the grassland and began to build a shelter, the unfamiliar environment soon presented them with problems.Weather, wild beasts, and unknown neighbors all force Charles to be constantly on guard, and Caroline also takes on the pressure of taking care of the children and maintaining family order in her humble life.Laura and Mary try to adapt to their new home, but find that freedom on the grassland often comes with risks.
