《Returning home after a long journey》Recommended: Four years of filming the life of a young man returning home

- Returning Home after a Long Journey - was recommended at the 5th Chinese Documentary Film Conference and was permanently collected by the National Image Collection Project together with five other films. The conference's commendation ceremony and closing ceremony were recently held at the Guangzhou Grand Theater, under the guidance of China Central Radio and Television, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Propaganda Department of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The protagonist of this documentary film is Pan Zhaode, a young man who returned to his hometown. For four years, the film crew followed his life in Baisha Town, Jiangjin, Chongqing: working in a winery to make a living, taking care of his sick elders, and raising his young daughter.Changes in the workplace, life and death, also entered the lens during this long shooting.

Director Zheng Xusong did not arrange a script for these days. The film does not use narration, nor does it interfere with the lives of the characters. It organizes the narrative based on the process of life itself.Crown Prince, Dong Aihui, and Chi Qingbo serve as producers.

The recommendation given by the conference is: “ because it allows workers to be seen and allows the tenacity and dignity in ordinary days to be expressed on the screen.”The film records workers with a head-up lens, brings personal experiences in rural life to the screen, and presents the lives of ordinary people in the process of Chinese modernization.
