《River Sunset》There is an edited version for overseas audiences.Variety exclusively reported that after this World War II spy drama co-produced by China was aired in China earlier this year, it was re-edited into an international version with nine episodes of 60 minutes each, and entered the Busan Asian Content and Film Market under the name Operation Doolittle (the international version's Chinese name is tentatively translated).Global sales agent Cappu Films will promote the series to buyers.

The new round of action is to find overseas buyers. The report did not announce which overseas TV station or platform has bought the broadcasting rights.

Zhang Luyi and Zhang Junning co-starred with Casper Van Dien and Jeff Fahey. When Variety introduced the lineup, it listed Zhang Luyi's "The Legend of the Demon Cat", Zhang Junning's "Best Friend" and "Hunting Soul".The two American actors' credits include Van Dien in Starship Troopers and Sleepy Hollow, and Fahey in Alita: Battle Angel and Lost.Zhang Chenguang and Zhang Songwen are also in the cast.

The story revolves around the Doolittle Raid in 1942, but the specific intelligence mission is a fictional plot.In the opening scene, an American intelligence officer carrying a secret bombing plan is shot down on a Japanese-occupied island off the southern coast of China.Chinese agents lurking within the Japanese military, working with local military doctors, managed to retrieve the plans, secure the operation, and create the conditions for Doolittle and his pilots to arrive in China.Characters speak in English, Chinese and Japanese, and battlefield action is intertwined with undercover missions in enemy-occupied territory, involving conflicting positions and issues of trust.

Zhao Jun, who has long been engaged in Chinese TV drama screenwriting and production, is responsible for the script, and Zhao Yilong co-directs with American director Shaun Piccinino.Han Sanping, the former head of China Film Group, serves as executive producer.

When being introduced, Zhao Jun said that the series hopes to present this wartime cooperation from the perspectives of both China and the United States, bring the common history to global audiences, and create opportunities for a new generation of Sino-US co-production projects. He called the Doolittle Raid one of the most audacious missions of World War II, emphasizing that at the heart of the story was the two countries' cooperation in the war.

Janice Woo of Cappu Films valued the play's courage and trust across different positions, as well as its international cast. She said that the company looks forward to cooperating with the producers to make the show reach TV stations, platforms and audiences in more regions.

The projects Cappu is promoting in Busan this time also include "Fox Hunt" starring Tony Leung, "Ephemera" (tentative translation) directed by Shan Jiang and selected for Tribeca, and Erica Xia-Hou's Slamdance project "Banr" (tentative translation). The martial arts film Lion Fist (tentative translation) and the Australian comedy-drama Her Last Laugh (tentative translation) directed by Joy Hopwood are also on the slate, as well as the action comedy Zombie Plane starring Vanilla Ice, Sophie Monk and Chuck Norris.A nine-episode version of 《River Sunset》 will be evaluated by market buyers alongside these projects.
