《Arthur & Clara》(Arthur & Clara, tentative translation) first released stills, will premiere at the Austin Film Festival

A filmmaker and an actress each left their original lives and came to the same farmhouse. They all hope to find themselves there, but after meeting, they find that it is equally important for someone to truly see themselves. The independent romance film Arthur & Clara (Arthur & Clara, tentative translation) recently released the first stills, showing the two characters of CJ Beckford and Mirren Mack walking into the British countryside.

The film will have its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival, which will be held from October 29th to November 5th.

This is the first feature film by writer and director Kieran Bourne. He previously directed Poles and I Am Pilate. The new film sets the story in a quiet, distant British countryside, and revolves around the identity of the two characters, their connection with each other, and their relationship with themselves.

Byrne said the world is becoming increasingly isolated and many interactions with strangers no longer occur face-to-face, so he wanted to tell a story about real connections between people. He hopes that when the audience sees two people building a relationship, they can also think of their own connection, so that the story can leave a lasting resonance.

In the film, Beckford plays a filmmaker and Mike plays an actor.Beckford previously worked on A Thousand Blows and Blitz; Mike's credits include 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and Hedda. In the photos released this time, the two have close-up shots of each other, as well as scenes of them being in the same room.

The production company Candid Broads Productions also entered feature film production for the first time with this film. The company has produced The Date and Swim Sistas. Founder and producer Oriane Pick has been following Bourne's creative process from short films to feature films. She said that when the team read the script, they felt it fit the story the company wanted to support, and they were excited to help him complete this poetic and emotionally resonant first feature film.

Anais Ferrato serves as co-producer for Candid Broads.

The executive production team includes Ilias Harcha, H3 ENT Company’s Hollis Hill, Rodney Baty, Ken Moreno, and Mischief International’s Maria Ishak. The director of photography is Tamás Apor Méder, and the casting is handled by Lucy Amos, who has previously participated in One Life, Bad Sisters and Say Nothing. The film was shot on location in Kent, England earlier this year.
